How to Plan and Achieve Your Website Goals
Nov 12, 2024You need the plan for your website success. Like any goal it can't be haphazard or it ends up in disaster so you do need to start with a plan.
1- What are your big goals for your website? It could be for the next quarter or the next year. Take some time to write down what your big goals are and rank them.
2 - You’re then going to break these goals down even further into smaller, more manageable ones. Make sure to write down the steps for each of your goals. Keep in mind there may be steps that you are unclear about or need more knowledge before writing them in your plan. That's where talking to a trusted professional can help you with your website.
3 - Now the objective is to look at the smallest possible steps that you need to take on a daily or weekly basis to get there. Schedule time in your calendar (whether it’s digital or paper) on a consistent basis for working on your website goals. The goals could be something like: writing new text, searching for images that align with your target audience, creating a new program or service, creating a landing page for that new program or service for example. Those are only a few examples.

When it comes to your website, keep this in mind: your website is like a garden. Gardens need to be cultivated and tended to otherwise they die. The same goes for your website, it is organic and needs to be maintained at least on a monthly basis. Here are a few tips for you to get started:
Tip #1 Blog Consistently
Start by writing a blog post. this can help you with the search engines, meaning Google. Google detects when you've written new content. It's important to write blog posts on a regular basis - a minimum is twice a month to make a difference.
Tip #2 Check Links and Buttons
Check all your links and buttons on your pages to make sure that they all work and are going to the page that you desire. you would be surprised at how many websites have links that go to what's known as a 404 error page that means nothing's there.
Tip #3 ALT Tags
Do your photos have alt tags? Alt tag means alternative tag and it's for your photos. The original intent is to help people who are sight impaired. You can also be more strategic for the search engines by using relevant keywords in the alt tags which are on the admin/back end of your site.
